Received several recommendations to try this place out. Decided to give it a shot today. Very nice, very personable couple! I got the brisket melt and a pound of deer sausage. I didn’t eat it until I got home. The only thing I regret was not sitting down before taking the first bite, because holy crap the first bite of that melt warped me to another planet! It filled me up by itself but I did try the sausage too and it too is fantastic! I will DEFINATELY be back and I sincerely hope this couple is able to find a good place for their more permanent restaurant! Hopefully locally so I don’t have to go across Houston

HOLY SMOKE! I flew into Houston from NY for business and had to drive a couple hours north up 45. Did some googling for good BBQ on my route and found The BBQ Spot. Man, am I happy I found this place. It's pretty unassuming when you pull up. Just a small little food truck parked in front of an old motel/apartment building. I wasn't sure I was in the right place at first - I think it would benefit them to put up even a small sign. The smoker was smoking and hit me with that scent as soon as I stepped out of the car. I ordered the four meat plate; deer sausage, rib, brisket and chicken. THIS IS EXCELLENT BBQ. Everything perfectly seasoned and the smoke flavor was BOLD and right at the forefront, which is the whole point! All the food was special but I have to say the chicken just smacked me with smoke. And I loved it! Oh, and the candied yams were fantastic too, like an incredible dessert. This place has got to get some more recognition for the incredible food they are making. They can hang with any of the famous places that get all the attention. And they are the nicest people too. They guy in the truck was wonderful, and his daddy (who I was told does all the cooking) was there along with his sister as well. They were all lovely and welcoming to this yankee who was just passing through. Next time I'm back in the area I will DEFINITELY be returning to The BBQ Spot for another dose!

Fantastic BBQ for a fair price. And Fred provided great service that made us feel like valued customers. I will be a loyal customer from this day forward.

Best BBQ I've had in Texas. I ordered the 3 meat plate with brisket, ribs and sausage. It was all amazing. They only do chicken on Friday and Saturday so we are planning to go back tomorrow and see if the chicken is as good as everything else. I'd bet a paycheck that it is. A+

The barbecue spot was a fantastic place to eat while we’re on a road trip traveling between Houston and Dallas. We made that our new barbecue spot. The brisket is so tender and phenomenal. The sides are like soul food, sweet yam candy yam potato salad always bomb delicious I’d recommend this place for catering for any event. I would use them. Top literally the top five barbecue restaurant in Texas

I’m speechless. I ordered the ribs, Mac and cheese and dirty rice. The ribs were perfect, wonderful smoke flavor, bbq sauce has to be one of the best I’ve had. The Mac is amazing and the dirty rice was the best as well. Highly recommend!!

Oh...my...GAWD THIS IS SOME OF THE BEST BBQ I'VE HAD IN MY LIFE I ordered 3 chopped brisket sandwiches and a 2 meat plate with brisket, sausage, dirty rice, and mac and cheese...when I took a bite outta that brisket...it felt like heaven itself shined down and said "life's been rough, have a miracle on the house" Brisket was melt in your mouth, the sausage was perfectly spicy, the dirty rice was fluffy as hell, and the mac was perfectly cheesy. Y'ALL GIVE THIS PLACE SOME LOVE

We have been eating at Mr. Fred’s barbecue spot for over a year now. It’s something special a do called hidden gem tucked away in Willis Texas. Anyone, who’s following me on google or any one who reads this review I stake my foodie reputation on the line and promise you will be a super satisfied customer. His boudin is the most amazing I’ve ever had in the 40+ years of eating boudin including all over Louisiana. His spicy deer sausage makes the quintessential simple snack with a piece of bread. We’ve had him cater our Christmas party and smoke Turkeys for our thanksgiving dinner. He’s currently working on a deal for H‑E‑B to carry his Barbecue sauce brand. It’s Carry home food truck. He’s a great guy and I think if you have the out would be a disservice to not try it out. If anyone tries it please let me know if I’m overhyping it but, I think you’ll agree 1st rate food!!!
